N1.5 Billion Free Food Programme And Interest-Free Loans: Akwa Ibom State Governor Intervenes To Alleviate Hunger And Poverty BY KELVIN FELIX MARCH 27, 2024 2 MINUTE READ The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, has initiated a free food programme and access voucher for vulnerable people in the state. The governor flagged off the programme during a ceremony held at the renowned Itam International market, situated in Itu Local Government Area. As part of the comprehensive intervention, Governor Umo Eno also announced the provision of an interest-free loan wallet totaling N1.5 billion for traders and business owners across the state. This loan facility, distributed across the three Senatorial Districts of Uyo, Ikot Ekpene, and Eket, will be managed by the FADAMA Micro Finance Bank.
